Woodland
Park
If your idea of Paradise
is waking up to spectacular views of Pikes Peak from your
deck while sipping your morning coffee then Woodland Park is just the place for you.
Woodland Park is completely surrounded by
the over one million acre Pike National Forest. Because of this, most of our neighborhoods
are either next to, or within walking distance to the national forest. The type of people
attracted to this lifestyle usually have a great appreciation for the outdoors in general,
and find our over 300 days of sunshine and mild climate to their liking. Within 10 minutes
of downtown Woodland Park, you will have access's to lake fishing. stream fishing, hundreds
of miles of trails, hunting, cross country skiing, motorcycle riding, or just enjoying
our local elk herds.
Woodland Park, geographically is located only
18 miles West of downtown Colorado Springs, and only 30 minutes to the Colorado Springs
Airport. Access through Ute pass at the base of Pikes Peak via a four lane highway, takes
you from a metropolitan city environment in the ever expanding Colorado Springs metro-plex
to this more laid back mountain town of shops and restaurants.
Woodland Park was nicknamed years ago "
The City Above The Clouds", and it will take any visitor only a short while to see
why. The local weather patterns through the fall, spring, and mostly winter will often
create a bank of thick clouds over Colorado Springs and the front range of the Rockies.
It is very common to drive up and out of this cloud bank on your way up the pass to Woodland
Park. It is quite a sight to see Pikes Peak standing tall above the clouds as you look
down on the clouds from Woodland Park.
Come experience for yourself a one of a kind
place with so much to offer.
